Ultimi sprazzi di Carnival. It is now a matter of hours, because Tuesday Grasso puts the word to end jokes and party in mask. But fortunately it is not so everywhere, because there are cities around the peninsula where the desire to have fun is so strong that the festivities continue until the next weekend.
One of these is Manfredonia, the main door to the Gargano promontory, where you continue to party all week and the last parade of wagons is even scheduled for the Saturday evening. Then, as if it wasn't enough, the fun continues to be incomplete with the Colored Night, that is the most crazy White Night in the region.
Worse? I too, so much so that I am leaving for Puglia to be overwhelmed by Carnival of Manfredonia, arrived at the 61st edition and organized for the first time by the local Tourist Agency, of which I will update you live in the coming days on Facebook and Twitter.
Among other things this year the theme of the event is "Tourism", declined in the different categories of nature, adventure, sea, history-culture and food and wine, to which the various groups protagonists of the kermesse were inspired.
Moreover, it could not be different, since Manfredonia is considered a true capital of active tourism, an ideal starting point for excursions and trekking in the wildest Gargano, in the Umbra Forest and in the Dauni Mountains, but also for boat trips and fishing-tourism activities along the coast.
Great wait therefore for Golden Night in program tonight March 4, which has its highlight moment in the Gran Parata in the streets of the centre of the allegorical wagons set up by the four local associations: "Artisti della Cartapesta sipontina" presents "Mare, fish and tourism" (which interprets the category of marine and seaside tourism), "Compagnia del Carnevale" – "The holidays of Zè Peppe sul Gargano" (nature), "Noi del Carnevale" – "The adventures of Zè Peppe" (adventure).
"Not only Art" – "Mmm... Saprt" (typical local food and wine). It is a true parade from Guinness, animated also by the cheerful and goliardic participation of the children of the lower and upper middle schools and of the Mask groups "Flamingo" which proposes "Let's reveal the Allegria" (category sport sea), "We cultivate Friendship" – "Sfilarte" (monuments of Manfredonia).
"Magicaboola" – "Mareviglando" (sea-balneare tourism), "Social Clandestino" – "Madre Natura" (nature, trekking), "La Banda del Sorriso" – "Biciclando" (biking and cycling tourism) "Euphoria" – "Minions to the collection" (typical local food).
