After the harvest, grapes and wine remain undisputed protagonists of autumn in Merano and surroundings, with a rich calendar of events and events to taste the best of the prestigious South Tyrolean wine production.
The first appointment dedicated to wine is VinoCulti, in progress until 6 November 2014. The event will take place between Merano and Tyrol not only with wine tastings and wine cellar visits but also with cultural excursions and walks to taste markets. After VinoCulti, from Saturday 8 to Monday 10 November 2014, from 10 to 18 at the Kurhaus in Merano will take place Merano WineFestival, the event that boasts over twenty years of history. In the charming rooms of the Art Nouveau building, symbol of the city of Merano, you can taste selected wines of the highest quality, coming from the most important wine areas of the world, and gastronomic delicacies.
To be noted, inside the Merano Wine Festival, the ninth meeting with bio&dynamica, that is the festival of wineries that practice organic, biodynamic and/or natural viticulture. In this edition there will be 60 Italian and European winemakers, who have chosen to cultivate their vineyards in this way, while, space will also be offered the world of beer with the BeerPassion section, dedicated to the particular flavors of craft beer. In Naturno, from 11 October to 15 November 2014 will take place Riesling Days of South Tyrol, in which local growers of Riesling, together with important farms, they will open their cellars to taste their fine wines. As for tradition and gastronomic specialities, from 17 to 19 October 2014, the famous Festa dell'Uva, a great occasion for the city of Merano. Food and wine stands and crafts, along with bands will animate the historic center of the city, but the central moment of the festival remains the Sunday parade of wagons and bands.
