I usually go on vacation when others return. Not to be competitive at all costs, but being able to do it, I prefer to avoid over-booking aircraft, crowded beaches and hotels at stratospheric rates. More than just a choice, in fact, mine is a real strategy. Why, let's just say it, starting at the end of the season has its undeniable advantages, especially in economic terms: at the same expense you can get a lot, but much more than you would have in the canonical weeks of July and August. Maybe you can also afford a 4-star hotel instead of the usual beachfront guesthouse. Or to grab an all-inclusive package for the destination of your dreams at balance prices. Then it's worth waiting a few weeks to enjoy the well-deserved holiday, right?
And then there is to say that spending summer in the city does not weigh me at all, indeed. The times when the cities closed for vacation and found yourself in a desert without even an open bar. – Going by the pool: surely also in your city there are outdoor pools where you can spend pleasant days swimming, sunbathing and making new friends. Just like you were in the tropics (or almost)!
– Visit a new museum or exhibition that you could not see in recent months because too busy with work. You do it for culture, of course, but also because usually museums are air-conditioned and you are a fairy tale.
– Discover the city parks, on foot or even by bike, cycling in the shadow of the trees along the cycle paths, finally free from the fanatics of the mtb who exchange them for enduro routes (in fact they are all making the true enduro routes! )
– Learning a new nautical sport. Is your city crossed by a large river or near a lake? Then there will also be a sailing club or rowers where to learn how to sail, canoe or kajak. Start paying and summer in the city will appear in another perspective.
– Going to outdoor cinema: a beautiful love movie projected under the stars is a perfect idea for a romantic evening as well as fresh.
