It seems that this winter the countries of the Great North are among the most popular destinations. Everyone to see the legendary boreal aurora, then. And maybe I'll go over there greetings to Santa Claus, who lives in Scandinavian tundres. Yeah, but where Santa livesExactly? Everyone knows that Finnish Lapland is the home of the bonario omone from the white beard awaited by children from all over the world in the most magical night of the year. Actually, his houses, official or not, are scattered around the world.
The most known without doubt is the Santa Claus Village, the representative residence located in Finland, 8km from Rovaniemi. Visited by 300,000 people every year, it is a theme park where children (and, why not, also adults) can meet Santa Claus in person and visit the post office where the letters from all over the world arrive. To prepare you for the best to live this unique experience, you should do a English test online: Santa Claus should speak all languages of the world, but in case you don't know yours, at least don't risk not being able to list all the gifts you would like to receive.
We talked about representative residence because, apparently, his official residence will be in Korvantuturi, north of Rovaniemi, a secret place at the foot of a hare-shaped mountain from which Santa Claus would be able to hear the voices of children from all over the world and, therefore, to perceive their desires.
Another place where you can meet Santa Claus is the new Santa’s Resort Kakslauttanen, near Saariselkä, where the magical experience of Christmas is guaranteed all year round. You can entertain yourself with him in the welcoming home while his helpers, elves, take care of hospitality, offering hot drinks and ginger cookies. Outside you make friends with the reindeer and you can even make a ride on Santa's sleigh! Overall there is also the Gold Creek, the stream close to which the elves are dedicated to the search for gold and the manufacture of Christmas gifts. The Gold Creek, the Bay of Gold and the forge of the blacksmith are accessible thanks to a 10-metre high bridge, guarded by the guardian elf who controls the situation from a fairytale tower. If desired, you can also stay in the 20 igloo glass igloo Village Kakslauttanen, equipped with heating, which are part of the same complex.
There is then who says that instead Santa would live in Greenland. Not in front of snowy landscapes, but in a wooden house by the sea in Uummannaq, in front of an immense lawn in which to let her reindeers free to enjoy nature.
