It’s been less than a year since my weekend in Valencia, but I already feel like I'm coming back. Actually, I've been trying to do this for a long time: those 3 days, although intense, were practically flying, leaving me the feeling of still having so much to see and do to discover it all the way. So, after some research on the net, I tried to make a wish-list and jumped out well 10 Reasons to Visit Valencia in 2017. What do you mean? It's time to come back, and soon!
10 Reasons to Visit Valencia
1. Fallas, Unesco heritage
This year the renowned Festival de Las Fallas, recognised in November as an intangible cultural heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, will be more special than ever. From 15 to 19 March the streets and squares of Valencia will fill with huge sculptures in papier-mâché, with music, pyrotechnic performances. The fallas They will then be burned at midnight on 19 March, after two days full of concerts, folkloric shows, fireworks, parades and other special events.
2. Try the new gastronomic tours
Valencia has been named world food capital by FAO: an excellent pretext to try the gastronomic tours organized in the 10,000 hectares natural park surrounding the city, like the new Bike Tour in the rice fields or the path ofHorchata, which will allow you to better know the agri-food products grown in this area.

5. City of running
The Turia Gardens and the beautiful seafront seem made especially for jogging, as well as the mild climate. The appointment for runners, however, is fixed on November 19, when running the famous Marathon...in the wait of 2018, when Valencia will host the World Half Marathon Championship.
6. New cycle track
The bike is the best, as well as ecological, to move in the city. More than this year the vast network of cycle paths will be further expanded with the completion of a new track of over 20 kilometers that will connect all the neighborhoods of the city.
7. The Silk Road
Valencia is City of Silk 2016 and will host the International Meeting of the Silk Road, confirming the importance it has covered in textile trade in Europe in the fifteenth century. You can discover this fascinating past by visiting the Silk Museum or taking part in the guided tour "City of Silk", which also includes the Lonja della Seda (Seta Market), a Gothic building World Heritage.
8. Sustainable tourism
In the Year of Sustainable Tourism, Valencia is the perfect eco-chic destination. You can explore the city on foot or by bike, enjoy delicious local products at km0 in the many tapas bars and restaurants, explore the different ecosystems, including sand dunes and marshes, which characterize the Natural Park of Albufera, a protected green area south of the city.
