The renovation works have been able to preserve the sophisticated sobriety of the lodge, while adding a modern aesthetic that celebrates simplicity and contact with nature. Although the general layout of the lodge has remained unchanged – with the bands lined along the beach and the common area in the centre – all structures have been rebuilt and expanded, now offering more spacious and comfortable environments.
Relaxed Luxury in Mnemba Island
Each band, completely renovated in the interior, has a private lounge on the beach, perfect for spending the day facing the sea. In line with the natural theme of the island, new bands recall the shape of the nautilus shell, with interiors inspired by nature colors and vibrant details in coral tones.
The structures still use the coral stone, with the addition of traditional Lamu plasters, offering an aesthetic effect that merges with the surrounding landscape. Each band is equipped with two inputs, one on the beach and the other from the heart of the island forest, to ensure greater privacy. The bedrooms, thanks to high shutters to the ceiling, can be closed for greater intimacy or left open, to enjoy the fresh sea breeze.
The common area of the lodge has undergone a complete renewal, with the aim of maximizing the views of the sea. The new bar represents the heart of the guest area, extending between interior and exterior, with a design that combines relaxed luxury and island glamour. The common spaces have been reconsidered to offer both social areas, where guests can meet and share moments, and secluded corners for those who want greater confidentiality.
Innovative elements allow you to enjoy outdoor dinners, even in bad weather, while the experience of dine barefoot on the sand remains intact, a classic loved by all visitors. The property also houses an internal courtyard for flashlight dinners, enriched by swahili influences.
