It is Vienna the top destination for art lovers: among Viennafair, Vienna Art Week and the Long Night of the Museums, this autumn there is only the embarrassment of choice.
Start with the Long Night of Museums (http://langenacht.orf.at), a fixed appointment for culture-loving nightclubs, during which you can launch, with a single ticket, on a night tour through ninety museums in Vienna. On October 5, 2013 you can visit the current exhibitions set up by the exhibition centers involved in the initiative from 18 to 1 at night. There is also a dense program that includes workshops, readings, special guided tours, live music and children's events. The shuttle bus service included in the ticket allows you to travel comfortably from one museum to another.
The event Viennafair The New Contemporary (www.viennafair.at) proposes from 10 to 13 October 2013 in the Messe Wien complex a selection of contemporary art. The event, focusing on the galleries of central, eastern and southern Europe, presents works in the field of visual arts, painting, graphics, sculpture, photography, installations and performance. In 2012 there were 122 galleries and over 17,000 visitors.
From 18 to 24 November 2013 interested and experts from all over the world meet at Vienna Art Week (www.viennaartweek.at) to debate current trends and trends in art. This great event initiated by the Dorotheum Wien auction house and created by the Art Cluster Vienna network offers a platform for cultural centers, museums, as well as numerous initiatives by artists and collectors of Vienna. The programme includes debates, presentations, meetings with artists, openings of exhibitions, extraordinary guided tours through temporary exhibitions, installations, interventions and performances.
