France reopens frontiers to tourists in the Schengen area and the United Kingdom from 15 June. As regards countries outside the European Union, decisions will be taken in a later time, although France reserves the right to apply reciprocal measures to those countries which impose quarantine on travellers or keep their borders closed.
It will not be a summer without lavender fields, Croisette and pastis, but in a few days we can again enjoy French art-de-vivre in a country that is preparing to re-accogliere visitors with effective health protocols to ensure security, according to best practices, beaches, countryside, parks and mountains suitable for walks or outdoor sports activities, but also of cultural and monumental sites, restaurants and tourist accommodation.
What is already open in France
In the meantime, from 2 June, France reopen coffee, bars and restaurants located in the green areas (all France except for the "orange" areas, that is Paris-Ile de France, Mayotte and Guyana) observing the rules of social space (1 meter between the tables and no more than 10 people per table) and use of mask required for staff and customers when moving to the premises. In Paris and in the Ile de France region, at the moment only terraces are allowed outside the premises.
New sanitary regulations also apply to hotels to offer reassuring conditions to guests during their stay.
In the green areas, France also reopens parks, gardens, beaches, lakes, artificial lakes, museums, monuments, amusement parks, theatres, entertainment halls, campsites, tourist villages and other collective accommodation, excluding the structures located in the "orange" areas, which will remain closed at least until June 22.
Reopening of Paris-Orly airport
Commercial passenger flights, suspended from 31 March, resume on Paris-Orly airport from Friday 26 June, although the reopening of the airport will gradually take place, in line with demand and optimizing the airport infrastructure. All precautions are also taken here to ensure that individual protections and physical distance are respected throughout the passenger's journey.
