Located about halfway along the west coast ofIndia, Goa is a paradise bordered on one side by the green hills of the Sahyadri Mountains and on the other by the Arabian Sea. Over 450 years of Portuguese domination preceded by Hindu supremacy have made "Sunny Goa" an exciting mix of cultures.

Imponent churches, fortresses perched on high promontory, delightful ancient palaces and villas, picturesque villages immersed in the emerald of rice fields are all elements that are part of this exciting heritage.
The happy mix of Indian and European heritage, especially Portuguese, makes Goa India a unique place in the world. The Portuguese arrived there as merchants at the beginning of the 16th century and later the region was part of the Portuguese colonial empire for about 450 years, becoming one of the oldest and most lasting colonial domains in history, until it finally returned to India in 1961.
Goa Most Beautiful Beaches
For the geographical position, Goa has always been a strategic place for trade with the Arab world. I wonder why, when we talk about India, never come to mind the beaches and the sea, which are many and for all tastes.
Goa India is queen of beaches that, while attracting every year crowds of swimmers both foreign and local, do not lose tranquility thanks to the vastness of the spaces and everyone can find fun and relaxation.
Calang, in a postcard scenario, it is considered among the most beautiful beaches of Goa, while the closest to the capital Panaji India is Miramar, Gaspar Dias, on the mouth of the river Mandovi. For lovers of pristine nature and silence, Colva is a place to consider, as well as Vogator and Bogmalo.

In the south there are many other beaches, including Velsao, Majorda Attarda, Benaulim, Fatrade and Cavelossim, even less touristy than those in the north and then Palolem beach, considered by many the best beach, with a breathtaking life on the west side of the Ghats mountain range covered by the woods in which to practice trekking.
15 minutes from Palolem beach extends the painter Agonda beach, quiet and isolated all year round, features that make it a good choice for those looking for a slow and relaxed lifestyle. The sea is usually quite moved, but the beach is however perfect for sunbathing and relaxing. There are bars and restaurants, but you can easily find a quiet and isolated place, and Agonda beach is cheaper and less touristy than Palolem.
Goa rave party

Many activities to be carried out on beaches of Goa: Arambol, as in other resorts along the coast, there are several centers that organize from November to March yoga courses on the beach, while the night comes alive with the famous Rave party.
AnjunaVagator, Morjim, Ashwem, Arambol, in particular, are the center of the unleashed Goa party, trance nights, festivals and beach party until dawn, that evoke the legendary period of hippies and call people from all over India and beyond.
Ancient colonial forts
Ma Goa India is much more than beaches and sea: Fort Aguada and its old landmark, for example, are important testimonies of colonial heritage, along with the Chapora Fort and Terekhol Fort, which are located in the northern Goa area.
To the south and near Vasco da Gama there is the Forte Mormugao, which dates back to 1624 and was the actual entrance of the Mormugao port, a beautiful natural port where they attract passenger and commercial ships that come from all over the world.
The temples of Goa India

In the region there are also important Hindu temples, which recall devotees from all over India, many of which have a particular architecture, the result of the encounters between more cultures. It is impossible to list them all: among the most famous, the Sri Mangesh in Ponda Taluka, about 23 km from Panaji.
The temple is dedicated to the deity of Lord Shiva. It is one of the temples that attracts more visitors than Goa India, along with the Shantadurga, dedicated to the goddess Durga, located on a slope at the foot of a mountainous chain, surrounded by lush vegetation and constituted by a main temple and three smaller dedicated to other deities.
The temple consists of a pyramidal structure with an interesting dome roof. All the temples of Ponda are located in beautiful hilly sites, among woods and shrubs.
In the heart of the city of Panaji, the temple of Mahalaxmi is a hindu sanctuary dedicated to Sri Laxmi, the great goddess as the bearer of abundance and fortune. The Jatra Maruti festival held at the Temple of Sri Mahalakshmi during the months of January-February recalls a large number of devotees.
