Stamps from Convalida
The journey of the Permanent Path of L’Eroica can start from any point of the route. Each agreed exercise is recognized as a starting point and arrival of the circuit. It is also authorized to issue validation stamps. These stamps are affixed to the "Road book" and attest the passage through the 5 control zones of the circuit: Chianti, Siena and Val d’Arbia, Montalcino, Val d’Asso and Crete Senesi. In total, there are 6 stamps: one for departure, one for each control area and one for arrival, which is at the same point of departure chosen.

Le Tappe del Percorso Permanente de l’Eroica
Area 1 – Chianti Valley
In the first part of the route, climb the sweet climb that will lead you to the Castle of Brolio, one of the most beautiful symbols of Chianti and L’Eroica. The ascent between the cypress trees, the passage under the walls of the castle and the descent through breathtaking views and vineyards are one of the most fascinating moments of the route. Before facing one of the most beautiful white street stretches, you can make a detour to visit Siena, one of the most beautiful medieval cities in the world. Here, the Duomo and Piazza del Campo create a magical atmosphere.
Area 2: Siena and Val d’Arbia
Exit from Siena, you will find yourself among the crops of cereals, grass and sunflowers. The landscape is transformed, painting with the colors of the land of Siena. Along the way, you will cross Colle Malamerenda and Radi, immersed in the gentle hills of Siena dotted with farmhouses and historic villages. This section offers an alternating view of the Via Francigena. During this part of the route, you will be immersed in one of the highest-level areas of the entire route.
Area 3: Montalcino
During the stop that leads to Montalcino through Castiglion del Bosco, you will find yourself on the beautiful and panoramic hills of production of the Brunello di Montalcino Wine. Montalcino, the city of honey, oil and organic, is a lovely village that deserves a visit. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Val d’Orcia. This area of the route is challenging, with a long climb almost entirely on dirt road, surrounded by Mediterranean scrub.
Zone 4: Val d'Orcia
The descent from Montalcino is a dive among the vineyards, followed by a path through the gentle hills that will take you to Lucignano d’Asso. Here, you can take a break for a typical Tuscan snack or simply supply yourself with water. Pedaling through the Val d’Orcia is a privilege for eyes and mind, able to refresh you from fatigue. The village of Buonconvento is simply magnificent.
Area 5: Crete Senesi
This last part of the route will take you through one of the most iconic landscapes of Tuscany, the Crete Senesi.
