It will be a week to rediscover the authenticity and quality of Trapani cuisine that proposed by the culinary festival "♪", cuscusu.it, that from 5 to 11 May will transform the city of Trapani into an ideal location for a journey through the rediscovery of gastronomic traditions, starting from a dish strongly linked to the territorial identity of the Sicilian capital: cùscusu.
A choral initiative, realized by the cultural association Trapaniwelcome, which will involve numerous institutions and cultural associations active in the territory, in addition to the commune of Trapani and those of Erice, Paceco and Favignana. The event aims to enhance and preserve the great culinary heritage of the territory by promoting a synergy between the different local excellences.
Quality, recovery of traditions and techniques handed down from generation to generation, use of genuine ingredients and strongly linked to the place of origin: this is the main idea of an event that protects the biodiversity of territorial cuisine, against any type of approval and standardization.
Among the events planned conferences, meetings, cooking workshops and wine tasting that will take place in some of the most beautiful locations in the city, such as museums, libraries, courtyards, cloisters and squares. There will be guided tours and tours in the most significant places in Trapani and province and moments of leisure and entertainment.
Every day, from Monday to Friday, you can enjoy delicious dishes of cùscusu and typical desserts in restaurants and pastries participating in the initiative, Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 May, will take place a public event in the suggestive Piazza del Mercato del Pesce with workshops and tastings of different versions of cùscusu, strictly to Trapani.
A "made-to-measure" event for tourists and visitors, which will give the opportunity to create their own experience, choosing among the many proposals within a week. Many participating accommodation facilities, including hotels, holiday houses, b&b, residences, etc., which will welcome tourists with special offers, such as 3×2 (a free three-night stay).
