Sea or mountain? Couples or friends? Italy or abroad? But, above all, what is the best time to book? These are the classic questions that we need to organize holidays, which we would like absolutely perfect, since they are the most anticipated time of the year.
Try to respond, and give some help straight, even the Club Med, who wanted to investigate the Italian habits to find out what are the mechanisms and timing behind the organization of the ideal holiday. The Book
Are you booked in advance or at the last minute? A theme that divides, the respondents in fact stand equally between two factions: the percentage of "early bookers" (i.e. those who book between a year and three months before leaving) is equal to 48%, while the "late bookers" (who instead organizes the holiday in the two months before departure) are the 52%. A balanced proportion that is confirmed both between home travellers and among those who choose foreign destinations.
But what is half the Italians doing the right thing? Apparently the quality of the holiday is directly connected at the time of purchase: the great majority of early bookers (the81% of those who have been in Italy,85% for abroad) declares to have spent a beautiful or even exceptional holiday, given significantly lower for late bookers, including the percentage of beautiful or exceptional holidays falls in fact almost 20 points, coming to 62%.
Moving for a long time is therefore the best choice and the Italians know it: it is the 62% to think that the ideal period to book and make sure a holiday with bows is to a year up to 3 months before of the departure.
Playing ahead
If it is true that for almost half the respondents (47%) the main reason to book soon remains the ability to make sure a lower price or exploit a promotion, the economic aspect is not the only advantage felt: early bookers, in fact, live the reservation as a true step towards happiness, also enjoying significant psychological benefits. Specifically, the 72% of those who book before declares to succeed reduce stress related to holiday planning leaving behind the anxiety linked to an under-dated reservation and guaranteeing enough time to agree everyone. A data, and a benefit, which rises significantly exceeding the80% between those who book the summer holiday in by March.
Is there a perfect holiday?
But what exactly do you mean for perfect holiday? For more than half of the total sample (58%) spending a perfect holiday means firstly have the possibility of detach the plug from any concern, characteristic that puts in agreement all types of holidaymakers.
Whether it is couples or families, however, this aspect is particularly close to the heart of Women: not having to take care of anything during the holiday is in fact fundamental for the 62% interviewed. Is that why they are the most anticipated? The 58% of the female sample (almost 10% more than men), in fact, declares play in advance and to be the first person of the couple or family to start talking about holiday, a way to devote a moment to yourself and be able to meet the needs of loved ones without having to set aside their own.
The second essential ingredient of the perfect holiday is instead different depending on whether you are travelling together or with family: for the majority of couples (59%) mainly counts the possibility of discover new cultures and traditionsWhile for 45% of families remains indispensable enjoy the right rest with the partner while the children enjoy themselves safely.
It seems, therefore, the perfect summer holiday exists, but only if it is booked in an ideal period: within the month of March, which reveals the last term to realize the desire for a summer at the height of expectations.
