North West wine cellars, slow wine tourism in Piedmont

North West Wineries is the itinerant event organized by Slow Food Piemonte and Valle d'Aosta to promote and promote know the wines of Piedmont. Not only Barbera and Dolcetto but also less known but equally interesting wines such as Timorasso, Gavi, Grignolino, Gattinara...

In all there are 7 stages, one per month, from March to October, 7 wines to discover around the region, through Langhe, Roero, Tortonese, Vercellese and Monferrato.

Each date is designed to be a huge tasting, involving from 15 to 20 cellars, to discover each time of a different wine:

March 20th. ROSA ROSSI. (Nebbioli del Nord Piemonte) – Gattinara (VC)

17 April. GROW OF NIZZA. (Barbera) – Nizza Monferrato (AL)

May 22. GRIGNOLINO IN GRIGNOLINO. (Grignolino) – Casale Monferrato (AL)

19 June. (Timorasso) – Tortona (AL)

July 23rd. TERRE D’ORO. (Moscato) – Canelli (AL)

September 11th. ANDAR FOR GAVI. (Gavi) – Gavi (AL)

October 9th. (Dogliani) – Dogliani (CN)

Each stage is a real gastronomic and tourist experience, discovering a different geographical area, in the background of breathtaking landscapes, many of which UNESCO heritage. Almost. 150 cellars involved, some open to the public for the first time, and hundreds of labels to taste, big names next to small producers.

Each is free to organize their own tour, as and with those who want (family, group, car, bus, also wanting by bicycle...) starting from an established point, with map and program to the hand and glass to the neck.
