The count down Rio de Janeiro Olympics, the first to be played in South American territory, which from 5 to 21 August will make even more calicent this summer. The most sought after period? It is not the opening ceremony – After the exciting opening ceremony in London 2012 are high expectations for Rio 2016. It seems, however, that viewers prefer to enjoy the show from television rather than live.
In fact, the most sought after period of the Olympics is not that of the ceremony, which is in the 2nd place, but that of the beginning of the athletic races (12-14 August). The third most sought after period is that of closing (19-21 August), where, among other events, will be held the finals of football, volleyball and beach volleyball.
The most expensive night? It has to do with the fastest man on Earth – The night of August 13th, that before the 100m men's race, is the most expensive of all the Games: it serves, in fact, an average of 314€ in double room to sleep in one of the hotels of the city. Arriving well rested at the race that could reconfirm Usain Bolt as the fastest man of the Planet costs 12% more than the average period (280)€ per night in double room)*. Contrary to what is believed, the opening ceremony is among the cheapest nights of all Olympics, with average rates of 253€ per double room, well below the average period.
World Cup or Games? A final cost more than an Olympiad – The most expensive night of all the Olympics is far from the average price paid for the final of the World Cup in 2014: 432€! Fans paid 37% more than they will pay sports fans on the most expensive night of the Games (on August 13).
Everyone in Copacabana and Ipanema? Not really. – If in the collective imagination we think that Rio de Janeiro Everyone wants to wake up in front of the beautiful beach of Copacabana or Ipanema, during the Olympics they would prefer to do it in front of... a sports center! In fact, 68% of trivago users searched for hotels that were in the neighborhood of Bar from Tijuca, ♪ headquarters of the Games and Olympic Village competitions. Between Arena Olimpica do Rio, Estádio Aquático Olimpico, Arena Carioca and many other facilities, bumping into your baby just outside the hotel will be much easier.
Italian good fans? Rio could exercise some charm – Italians seem to be good supporters of their athletes, since the number of searches to Rio during the Olympic period increased by 33% compared to the pre-Olympic period. This places us among the most enthusiastic Europeans after the United Kingdom and Germany and at parimerit with Spain for increasing interest in the city of the Games.
The most fierce fans? I'm just over the border. – Those who decided to take advantage of the fact that the XXXI Games will be on the South American continent and, moreover, in a neighbouring country are the Argentines: they occupy, in fact, the second place after the Brazilians for increase of interest towards Rio de Janeiro on the dates of the Olympics.
Far from the crazy crowd? Yes but not too much – Congested traffic, exorbitant prices, invasion of tourists: these are just some of the reasons why great events can be a real stress. Where will the people of Rio go? The most sought-after destination is Paraty, a beautiful colonial city overlooking crystal clear waters, ideal for practicing some sports (to be on the theme!). The goal is still within the state of Rio de Janeiro, at "sole" 4 hours drive from the headquarters of the Games: you are always in time to return to the city if you change your mind.
