The holiday bonus is provided in the form of credit for expenses that must be incurred in a single solution (so it can not be "specified") for the payment of services rendered by a single accommodation facility, either an agriturismo or a bed and breakfast.

Booking and payment cannot be made through or through the intermediation of platforms or telematic portals, but directly to the structure or through travel agencies and tour operators, which must issue electronic invoice or other tax document of the payment.

The credit is available to the extent of 80 percent in the form of a discount on the amount due and for 20 percent in the form of tax deductions when the income statement of the beneficiary.

In practice, assuming the right to a maximum credit of 500 euros, on a hypothetical expenditure of 1000 euros, they pay only 600 euros using a discount of 400 euros (equal to 80 percent of 500 euros), while the remaining 100 euros (equal to 20 percent of 500 euros) recover in the form of tax deduction with the tax declaration of 2021.

Holiday Bonus 2021 as request

The holiday bonus is obtained from 1 July exclusively via telematics, through the new App of public services "io.italia.it". The procedure is a bit slender, but following step the guide you find at this link on the website of the Revenue Agency you should have no problem.

So, the first thing to do is install "IO", the public services app, available free of charge from PagoPA on the site https://io.italia.it/. To access it, it is necessary to have the digital identity SPID, the public digital identity system (SPID) that allows access to all the online services of the Public Administration with a single digital identity. Alternatively, you can also access the AppIO with your Electronic Identity Card (CIE3.0), the new identification document that allows you to access the digital services of the Public Administration.

By connecting to the Inps database, the appIO checks that the applicant is in possession of all the necessary requirements and communicates to the applicant the outcome of the reply, with an app message.

In case your request is considered valid, you are provided with the digital holiday bonus with the indication of the amount of the discount, the tax credit, the list of members of the family who can use it and the period within which you can use it. The bonus is combined with a unique code and a QR-code to perform, displaying it on the smartphone by accessing the IO app in the "Payments" section, to the provider of the tourist service at the time of payment of the stay.

In a statement of 3 July, the Revenue Agency has also specified that in the Holiday Bonus the costs of additional services, such as the bathing ones ( rental of umbrellas and sunbeds), provided they are indicated in the invoice issued by the only provider chosen to spend the holidays, that is, the accommodation.

That said, however, the acceptance or not of the holiday voucher is not mandatory, but it is at total discretion of the accommodation, which may also not be interested in joining this formula. How to know then whether the hotel or the holiday village where you want to stay accepts the holiday vouchers of the Decreto Rilancio?
