The future of New York from Lower Manhattan, became the focal point of the city waiting for the opening of 9/11 Memorial for the 10th anniversary of September 11. Many initiatives planned in the coming months around Ground Zero area who invite tourists to explore the neighborhoods downtown and be direct witnesses of their rebirth.
From June 1, Get More NYC: Lower Manhattan offers new routes, offers in hotels for weekend stays with the Downtown Culture Pass included in the price, 20% discount in shops, restaurants, attractions and cultural institutions of Lower Manhattan. In addition, NYC CityStore, the official New York City store, will offer a 20% discount on all products for sale from 21 to 31 June.

Many cultural events and festivals are scheduled for the summer of Lower Manhattan. In Governors Island, accessible by ferry, there are many free cultural initiatives, including Mark di Suvero at Governors Island:Presented by the Storm King Art Center, a large outdoor exhibition dedicated to the artist’s sculptures. From June 19th to July 16th, the River to River Festival is a great free event with music, movies, dance, theatre and art at various points in Lower Manhattan.
Since 2001, Lower Manhattan has witnessed an important growth in the number of visitors, accompanied by the opening of new hotels located in downtown Manhattan, including the World Center Hotel, Andaz Wall Street, W New York Downtown and DoubleTree by Hilton New York City Financial District. Also on the front of the restaurant with the opening of SHO Shaun Hergatt, The Libertine Restaurant, and The Capital Grille Wall Street that add to restaurants-Icon Bayard’s, Adrienne’s Pizzabar and Cipriani Wall Street.
